Wake County Resident Organizes Holly Springs Event to Promote Awareness of Parkinson Disease
Andy Lenviel Hosts a Womble Park Walk and Poster Signing March 15
Holly Springs, N.C. (March 4, 2008) When Wake County resident Andy Lenviel learned his Mother had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2006, he personally invested himself in promoting awareness of this degenerative disorder of the central nervous system.
Not only will Lenviel participate in New York City’s Parkinson’s Unity Walk on April 26, he plans to carry a poster filled with signatures of people affected by Parkinson’s disease. “It’s my desire to fill this poster with signatures of people from the Henry County (Virginia) and Wake County (North Carolina) areas,” Lenviel says. “With the help of Andria Lake and Mindy Horn of InsideHollySprings.com, I’ve organized a local event to promote my cause.”
Lenviel will host a signing event at 9:30 a.m. on March 15 at Womble Park in Holly Springs, which kicks off with a short walk, a silent auction then followed by the Town of Holly Spring’s Spring Fling and a donation plate provided by Danny’s Barbecue.
Lenviel is asking those who are interested in signing the poster to arrive a few minutes early. Supporters not directly affected by Parkinson’s disease are welcome to sign the poster after those who are affected by the disease have signed it. Supporters unable to attend the March 15 event can still sign the poster. Email Lenviel at parkinson08@gmail.comor call (919) 363-1792 to arrange a time to sign it.
Donations provided by sponsors of participants in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk, a non-profit organization, are distributed among seven major United States organizations established for Parkinson’s disease research.
