Frame Shop & Art Gallery Opened at Sunset Lake Commons
Judie Howard has moved her art gallery and frame shop to Holly Springs. Her store, The Nature of Art, is now located in Sunset Lake Commons at the corner of Holly Springs and Sunset Lake Roads, and is the first frame shop in Holly Springs. Howard has been framing for 27 years and is regarded as one of the area's most experienced framers. Being the first frame shop in town is not new to Howard. She opened the first frame shop in Cary on Kildaire Farm Road in 1980. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue to serve my Cary customers while expanding my business to include Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and Apex." Howard enhances works of art with a wide variety of materials that include traditional as well as unusual colors and styles. She likes for her customers to participate in the selection process, and she provides a personal touch that is hard to find at a chain store.
An unusual aspect of Howard's long-time business is the support she offers for local artists. The shop features original paintings and prints, photography, jewelry, pottery, wood and metal sculpture, handmade cards, drums, Belgian chocolates, wind chimes, soap, stained glass, and more. Low country Impressions show opens at The Nature of Art Gallery's new location at Sunset Lake Commons in Holly Springs. This new series of acrylic paintings is by Wake County professional artist, sculptor, writer, and photographer Carol Stein is showing through June 12. The community is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Friday, June 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Free.
