CREATIVE POTTER FEATURED AT THE NATURE OF ART
“The making of art is limited only by one's imagination. It is a journey that gives our hearts wings as we lose ourselves in the creative process.” --Lois Brucker
Lois Brucker's “Mythical Mermaids and More” Pottery Show opens at The Nature of Art Creative handcrafted pottery. Free Reception with live music by the artist and her friends, Friday, March 14 from 6 - 8pm. Show through March 31.
The Nature of Art, Sunset Lake Commons, 5229 Sunset Lake Rd, Holly Springs (919) 387-9448, Mon-Sat 10 am-6 pm.
After thirty years of teaching in a Philadelphia elementary school, Lois Brucker retired and moved to Cary where she could be close to her son's family and part of her grandson's life.
Since childhood, the arts have been the center of Lois' world. Singing, acting, and experimenting with a variety of mediums in art, she was able to make many of her dreams come true. Lois played leading roles and comic side-kicks in about twenty community and dinner theater musicals. She was the lead singer in a seven piece wedding band for twelve years. And to her own amazement, after coming to Cary, had her pottery accepted at the Seagrove Pottery Gallery in Cameron Village, Knockabout, Unburied Treasure, and The Nature of Art in Holly Springs.
Lois enjoys teaching students in her “Pink House Art Studio” at home where she can also work on her own pieces. She is a founding member of Cary Clay Cooperative.
She began making mermaids and fairies about six years ago and recently added cats to her repertoire.
Lois feels extremely lucky to be doing what she loves and to be retired!
“Just as no two people are alike, so it is with artists. It is this uniqueness, plus the willingness to be sincere to oneself, that makes art so exciting and unpredictable!”
